Privacy policy

How Toolkeel handles information: files are processed on your device and never uploaded. Server logs, cookies, advertising, email and your rights.

In short: the files and text you use with our tools are processed inside your browser and never sent to us. We have no accounts, we do not sell personal data, and we collect as little as possible.

1. Who we are

Toolkeel (toolkeel.com) is operated by Sole Digital Media, Sousse, Tunisia ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the limited personal data described below. Contact for privacy matters: privacy@toolkeel.com.

2. Files and text you use with the tools

When you add an image, PDF or text to a tool, your browser reads it from your device and processes it in memory using code downloaded with the page. The file is not uploaded to our server or to any third party. We never receive, see or store it. Results are created in your browser and saved directly to your device. Closing or reloading the tab discards the data.

Some tools download additional program code from our own server when first used (for example the PDF renderer, the HEIC photo decoder and the OCR engine with its language data). This is a download to your device; your files are never part of any request.

Microphone and screen. The voice and screen recorders use your microphone or screen only after you select Record and your browser asks for, and you give, permission. Audio and video are recorded in your browser and saved to your device when you download them; they are never streamed or uploaded. Recording stops when you select Stop or close the tab.

Exceptions you control: links that send information elsewhere when you click them, such as "open in OpenStreetMap" (which opens openstreetmap.org with GPS coordinates you chose to view) or links to social networks.

3. Information our web host records

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically keeps server logs of requests: IP address, date and time, page or file requested, referring page and browser user-agent. These are used to operate and secure the site (for example to detect attacks), kept for up to 30 days, and not used for advertising or profiling. Our web hosting company processes these logs on our behalf, as our processor.

Visitor statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to understand how the site is used: which pages and tools are visited, how visitors arrived (for example from a search engine), their device and browser type, and their approximate location (country or city). It uses cookies such as _ga and similar identifiers. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, we have not enabled Google signals, and statistics are kept for up to 14 months. The files and text you use with our tools are never sent to Google Analytics.

In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are used only after you agree through the consent message. Elsewhere, analytics runs by default, and you can opt out at any time with Google's opt-out browser add-on or your browser's privacy settings. Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We show ads provided by Google. Google and its partners act as independent controllers and may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and prevent fraud, and, with your consent where required, to personalise ads based on your interests.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message before personalised advertising is used; you can change your choice at any time using the "Privacy and cookie settings" link that the consent message provides. You can also manage personalisation at Google Ad Settings. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Google's ad scripts run in the page, but our tools never pass your files to them: files are read only by the tool you chose, in your browser. The counter under each tool lists requests to our site separately from ad and statistics requests to Google.

4. Help assistant

The Help button searches answers built into the website. Your questions are processed in your browser and are not sent to us or to any AI service.

5. Email

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments. We use them only to reply and to improve the site, keep them no longer than 24 months after our last exchange, and never add you to a mailing list without your separate consent. Our email is hosted by our web hosting company, as our processor.

6. Cookies and local storage

Cookies are set by Google for visitor statistics and advertising, as described above, with your consent where the law requires it. We use your browser's storage only on your device and only for convenience: a preference if you dismiss the optional "follow us" suggestion, your own business details if you ask the invoice generator to remember them, and the OCR engine's language data so it does not need downloading again. None of this is sent to us. See the cookie page.

7. Social media

Our pages link to Sole Digital Media's profiles on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn. These are plain links: no social-network scripts, "like" buttons or tracking pixels are embedded, so those networks learn nothing about your visit unless you click. If you follow or message us there, the network's own privacy policy applies.

Where data protection laws apply, including Tunisia's Organic Law No. 2004-63 of 27 July 2004 on the protection of personal data and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website, emails on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you, and analytics and advertising cookies with your consent where consent is required (elsewhere, on the basis of our legitimate interest in measuring and funding a free service).

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; to withdraw consent at any time; and to complain to a data protection authority (in Tunisia, the Instance Nationale de Protection des Données Personnelles, INPDP; in the EU, your national authority; in the UK, the ICO). Email privacy@toolkeel.com. We respond within the period required by applicable law (usually one month).

9. International transfers

Our hosting, email and (if enabled) advertising providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses offered by those providers.

10. Children

The site is a general-audience service. It does not knowingly collect personal data from children, and advertising (if enabled) is not intentionally directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in their country).

11. Security

We use HTTPS, a strict Content Security Policy and other measures described on the security page. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but our design avoids holding your files at all.

12. Changes

We will update this page, and the date above, before any change in how we handle information takes effect.
